Fashionista

Here is a fun layout I threw together this morning, using scraps and old Basic Grey papers. I really need to make an effort to do this more. The cricut swirl was also a scrap that didn't work with a previous lo. So don't go throwing scraps away, because you never know when they will come in handy!

Oh Baby-Thursday DT Sketch

It was my turn to do the sketch for the Pages In Time store blog. The way the sketch was designed, I thought liquid pearls would accent it perfectly. Well actually, these are Ranger dimensional pearls. They still have the same effect. This was my first time using them. They have been sitting on my desk for months, with me afraid to touch them for fear I would ruin a layout. Well, they won't be sitting there collecting dust anymore! In fact, I will need to get more. If I had a crystal ball, I would see myself creating my own blingy flourishes in the future! Watch out Prima! Oh, Prima will still get me to buy their gorgeous flowers, just like the ones on this layout. They are so beautiful!

Queen of his Heart

I am a big Gone with the Wind fan! Love the movie! I watched every year when I was younger. So, I decided to do my next Pages in Time design team layout, using this image of Scarlett and Rhett.  I still have plans on doing some ATC's, but that photo pleaded with me to scrap it. LOL! I used Kaiser scrapbook papers and Prima flowers. My cricut cut out the frame and I used my new Heritage cart for the word Queen. I do believe I am falling in love with that cartridge. There are so many cool images and I love the font! Of course I used Tim Holtz's distress ink and blending tool. Gotta love Timmy! I couldn't do a layout without his inks! I have a lot of people asking about the flower centers. They are actually buttons. I cut the backs off. I found them at Joann's and the package calls them  Fantastic Findings.

A Vintage Dream Site

If you love all things vintage you have to check out this site! I can't help myself and keep going back! The music alone is worth going there! They have a ton of photos. Everything from Marie Antoinette to Michael Jackson (though I don't consider Michael vintage just yet). Here is the link. Now prepare to go back in time!! Say Hello to Miss Retro for me!!

My first ATC's

I had a ton of fun making these and most definitely see me doing more of them. I hadn't embossed in so long I forgot how much I liked the look. That is why I think it is important to try different things. Never good to get stuck in a rut because you miss so many techniques. I am very guilty of that myself. If you don't know what ATC's are, they are artist trading cards. I think Marie Antoinette is a perfect subject. I would love to do some of Gone with the Wind. So keep checking back and you will one day see the Gone with the wind ATC's. But first I need to finsh my Marie Antoinette set.

My Completed Challenge Layouts

Well here are the layouts I completed in the challenges. The first was done using a sketch created by Amarylis. She creates the most beautiful sketches, so I knew I would want to do her sketch challenge! Then I joined the scraplift challenge hosted by Maggi. Love that bright and colorful layout! Next was a 5 layer challenge hosted by Ann. You had to layer using 5 different patterned papers. Whoa! Talk about challenging! Last would be the challenge hosted by Jen. The Whoooo do You Love challenge where you had to scrap a non human that you love. That was easy! I love to scrap my baby girl! I didn't get to do any of Denise's challenges. Sorry! I was plum wore out!

Successful Crop

We had a very successful online crop at Pages in Time this past weekend. Lots and lots of scrapping was done , games were played and people were in the chat room chatting! There were lots of RAK's given away. I couldn't believe that I completed four lo's in one weekend! I am normally very slow, but somehow I managed to get them done. I hosted the Embellishment Challenge where you had to cut an embellishment out of patterned paper. The greenery in the bottom right corner was my paper embellishment. I also hosted the Color Challenge where you could only use three colors on your layout. Here are my example layouts.
